Just like your car needs a regular MOT to keep running smoothly, your body does too, especially your joints.
At TMacLife, our Joint MOT is a popular assessment that gives you a clear snapshot of your joint health, mobility, and movement patterns — whether you're recovering from injury, staying on top of your training, or just want to move better day-to-day.

🧠 What Is a Joint MOT?
Think of it as a full-body joint check-up. It’s a hands-on, 1-to-1 assessment with a sports therapist or physiotherapist, designed to:
Identify restrictions or imbalances in your movement
Spot early signs of wear, overuse, or dysfunction
Improve performance and prevent future injury
This session isn’t just for athletes — it’s for anyone who wants to feel looser, stronger, and more in control of their body.
🔍 What Happens During Your Session?
Here’s how your 45–60 minute Joint MOT typically flows:
1. History & Lifestyle Review We start by understanding your physical history — any past injuries, daily movement habits, job demands, and training loads.
2. Postural & Movement Screening We assess your posture, flexibility, and how your joints behave during basic movements like squats, reaches, or walking.
3. Joint-by-Joint Testing We test specific joints (shoulders, hips, knees, spine, ankles) for range of motion, strength, and stability. This gives us clues about tightness, overuse, or underuse.
4. Treatment or Movement Correction Based on what we find, we may apply hands-on treatment like soft tissue release, stretching, or joint mobilisations — and we’ll show you tailored exercises to take home.
5. Recovery & Next Steps We wrap up with recovery tools (like compression boots or dry needling if appropriate) and offer a clear plan: whether it’s rehab, performance training, or ongoing maintenance.
💡 Why It Benefits Everyone
Athletes: Fine-tune movement mechanics, stay injury-free, and perform better
Desk workers: Reduce stiffness, improve posture, and unlock movement
Postnatal clients: Reconnect to your body and strengthen key areas safely
Weekend warriors: Stay mobile and active with fewer setbacks
You don’t have to wait for pain to show up before you get checked out.
